The Alumni Council provides the nucleus of active leadership necessary to accomplish the goals of the Alumni Association. Members from any class are eligible to serve on the Alumni Council and it is desirable for the council to be comprised of graduates representing several decades. Homecoming and Reunions
Homecoming Alumni Reunion 2020 Canceled
I wanted to provide you with an update. During these uncertain times, our Alma Mater continues to overcome obstacles and create a safe and effective learning environment for current students.
Your SMA Alumni Association leadership is equally concerned about the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. As you know, we delayed our Austin Alumni Social. Unfortunately, with the resurgence of cases in Texas, we will need to cancel the 21 August Social in Austin as well.
In accordance with government guidelines, the Academy is adjusting schedules and implementing contingency plans as many of us Alumni are doing for our businesses and families. One of these schedule changes is the delay of our traditional Homecoming Alumni Reunion weekend from October to next spring. While caution is causing much uncertainty in our world today, optimism will guide your Alumni Association, in conjunction with the Academy Administration, Faculty, and Staff, to develop a creative and appropriate way to celebrate our rich heritage as SMA Alumni.
If you have any questions about the SMA Alumni Association, please contact me at (254) 466-8217 or email – email@example.com.
